Front of this router thing. The Centronics Connector is its serial port for connecting to the other router via RS232, V.35, etc.
This is an extension bit on the side (what would be the bottom when installed in a backplane) of the device with air vents. Unusual.
Here you can seen the extension bit on the right again. It seems to almost just be clipped on - its not built-in to the case
