BUG FIXES AND NEW FEATURES *********************** * VERSION INFORMATION * *********************** These release notes are for version 1.01 of the WEB management server. To determine the version number of the existing software, look at the first line that the web server prints after it starts. Alternatively, highlight the web_mgt.exe filename using the file manager, and use the file->properties pull down menu to view the version number. This release supports the following drivers: ATMworks 350 NT (v 3.00 only) ATMworks 351 NT (v 1.03 and higher only) *************************** * SECURITY CONSIDERATIONS * *************************** The WEB-based management tool provides local and remote users with read/write access to the configuration data for Digital ATM NICs. This implies that a local or remote station could disable any ATM network connection which is using a Digital ATM NIC. If this is an unacceptable risk, do not install this tool. Security will be added in a subsequent release. ************** * KNOWN BUGS * ************** version 1.01 - This version functions with NT driver versions 1.01 or lower ONLY. Later driver versions require WEB management server version 1.02 or later. - The WEB management server does not function on systems running Windows NT v 4.0 with service pack 1 or 2. This is true for both PCs and Alphas. - The hypertext help links are not fully implemented. Some may give incorrect descriptions. - A picture of the ATMworks 350 is displayed for the ATMworks 351. - If at least one physical adapter fails to map properly into the WEB management server, no adapter(s) will be managable on the main page. *************** * LIMITATIONS * *************** These limitations will be addressed in future Web Management releases. - DIGITAL does not provide a convenient method to start the WEB server when the system reboots. - There are no security provisions for preventing unauthorized remote clients from accessing the WEB server. - Any changes that you make to the configuration are "volatile". When the system reboots, these changes are no longer in effect. ****************************** * BUG FIXES AND NEW FEATURES * ****************************** version 1.01 - User accounts must have administrator privileges to execute the WEB management server. version 1.00 - This is the initial release. ====================================== TRADEMARKS DEC, DIGITAL, and DECpc are trademarks of Digital Equipment Corporation.
