Hewlett-Packard Read Before Installing HP Availability Manager, Version 3.1 Thank you for your interest in the Availability Manager product. what follows is information about the Availability Manager. Note: The beta test consists of the Data Analyzer/Data Server kits. Please use the AVAIL_MAN_BASE kit that is provided in the OpenVMS installation for the Data Collector files on your OpenVMS V8.4 beta test systems. Kit and documentation information The Availability Manager product consists of three parts: o Data Collector - Software that collects data on an OpenVMS system o Data Analyzer - Software that displays the data o Data Server - Software that enables data collection over a wide area network The Data Analyzer and Data Server run on OpenVMS I64 and Alpha platforms, and on Windows 2000 and XP platforms. The installation kits for the Data Analyzer and Data Server, as well as the documentation are available from the HP Availability Manager home page at the following URL: http://www.hp.com/products/openvms/availabilitymanager Installation Information Installation information is contained in the HP Availability Manager Installation Instructions. These instructions contain installation information for all the Availability Manager kits, and are available (Sue - at this site?) and on the Availability Manager web site. VAX Support This Version of Availability Manager (i.e. V3.1) does not have any support for the OpenVMS VAX compatible Systems.Hence it will not install and run in the System running OpenVMS VAX as the Operating System. Release Notes Information The release notes for the Availability Manager contain a summary of new features, known problems, restrictions, incompatibilities, and installation-related instructions.
