          Welcome to this month's OpenVMS Alpha Software Product Library
          Package. The December 1997 package includes the changes de-
          scribed in the following sections.

          Introducing DIGITAL Enterprise Integration Packages, V2.0

          If you purchased Version 1.0 of the DIGITAL Enterprise Integra-
          tion Server for OpenVMS License Package, you will notice that
          both the name and the physical packaging of this set of products
          have changed. The new name is DIGITAL Enterprise Integration
          Packages. The code for the products in Version 1.0 came on its
          own set of CD's; however, the code for the products in the new
          version comes completely integrated with the DIGITAL OpenVMS
          Alpha Software Product Library.

          For information on how to find each of the products in this
          license package, please refer to the Product Matrix at the end
          of the hardcopy cover letter, "Getting Started with DIGITAL
          Enterprise Integration Packages." For more information about
          this license package, refer to the same letter.

          Introducing DIGITAL PATHWORKS[TM], V6.0

          PATHWORKS V6.0 for OpenVMS (Advanced Server) is available for
          OpenVMS V7.1 Alpha only, and will support only the new Client
          Access License (CAL). Customers with qualified DIGITAL service
          contracts should have already received their Client Access
          license upgrades.

          The PATHWORKS Ordering Guide lists order numbers and estimated
          U.S. prices for PATHWORKS Media Kits and Licenses as of October
          6, 1997 and is available at:

    	  Changes planned for NAS Products

          Beginning with the March 1998 Software Products Library, the NAS
          Package component products will not ship on separate NAS discs
          within the Software Products Library, but will be found on 
    	  the Software Products Library discs themselves.

          The NAS base kits (including the group license table) and NAS
          documentation will still be delivered on the Software 
    	  Products Library.  The NAS component product kits can be
    	  obtained as a part of the Software Product Library or as 
      	  separate component kits.
 

          Product Retirements and Removals

          There are no products scheduled for removal from the Decem-
          ber 1997 Software Products Library or the March 1998 Software
          Products Library.

          Product Name Changes

          The following products have changed their names with this pack-
          age release:

          Also, please note, new customers for Archive Backup System will
          find the product in this kit under its previous name: Storage
          Library System. The new product name, "Archive Backup System"
          will be phased in with the next major update of this product.
