          for Tru64 UNIX Systems

          Please take time to read the following information about Micro
          Focus COBOL V4.1C. These notes cover the Micro Focus products
          distributed by Compaq on Compaq Tru64 UNIX.

          The main product is the Micro Focus COBOL Software Developer
          Suite for Tru64 UNIX, which consists of Micro Focus Object
          COBOL, Micro Focus Toolbox, and Micro Focus Dialog System.
          For the deployment of the developed applications, there is the
          Micro Focus COBOL Application Server for Tru64 UNIX, previously
          referred to as the Micro Focus Operating System Extensions (OSX)
          product.

          Micro Focus COBOL Documentation Available on CD-ROM

          Since the release of Micro Focus COBOL V4.1B, a documentation
          CD-ROM is available for purchase with files in HTML and PDF for-
          mats. To view the PDF format, you need Adobe Acrobat software.
          To view the HTML format, you need a web browser. The CD-ROM is
          in ISO 9660 format and can be viewed on most systems including
          the UNIX operating system and Windows operating system.

          License Management Facility (LMF) Information

          Before you can use the Micro Focus COBOL Software Developer
          Suite, a Compaq LMF PAK must be registered and loaded. See the
          Micro Focus COBOL Installation Guide for Tru64 UNIX Systems for
          more information. The purchase of a valid Application Server
          license and the installation of an LMF PAK are required when
          deploying Micro Focus COBOL based applications to production
          systems to ensure support and to conform with licensing and
          royalty obligations.

          Release Notes Information

          The release notes for Micro Focus COBOL V4.1C contain informa-
          tion specific to the products on Tru64 UNIX, including a summary
          of known problems and restrictions.

          Installing Micro Focus COBOL requires Tru64 UNIX Version 4.0F or
          Version 5.1.

          The CD-ROM Distribution Media contains the product installation
          kits and related documentation. The documentation includes this
          document, the Micro Focus COBOL Installation Guide for Tru64
          UNIX Systems, the Software Product Description, and the Micro
          Focus COBOL Product Release Notes. Depending on the product you
          are licensing, the documentation is provided in POSTSCRIPT and
          ASCII formats in the following directories:
