          Digital SNA 3270 Application Services

          Dear Customer:

          This kit contains the Digital SNA 3270 Application Services,
          Version 1.2, software and user documentation. Please check the
          bill of materials to see that all the items listed are in your
          distribution kit. If any item is missing or damaged, please
          contact your Digital Equipment Corporation representative.

          The Digital SNA 3270 Application Services Version 1.2 supports
          OpenVMS VAX, Versions 6.1, 6.2, and 7.0, OpenVMS Alpha, Ver-
          sions 6.1, 6.2, and 7.0, Alpha AXP systems running Digital UNIX
          Version 3.2c and later and LMF requirements.

          The Digital SNA 3270 Application Services Version 1.2 documenta-
          tion set includes the following:

          o  Digital SNA 3270 Application Services Installation (Digital
             UNIX)

          o  Digital SNA 3270 Application Services Installation (OpenVMS)

          o  Digital SNA 3270 Application Services Programming and Manage-
             ment

          o  DECforms Use with 3270 Terminals (for OpenVMS only)

          In most cases, the software operates identically on OpenVMS and
          Digital UNIX systems. Any exceptions are noted in the release
          notes. Digital recommends that you read the release notes for
          any technical issues before you begin installation. See the
          Installation manual appropriate to your operating system for
          more information about how to access the release notes.

          Installation

          Register and load the product's PAK using the OpenVMS or Digital
          UNIX License Management Facility before you begin installa-
          tion. Refer to the OpenVMS License Management Utility Manual or
          Digital UNIX Guide to Software License Management for complete
          licensing information.

          To install on OpenVMS, enter the following:

          $ @SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL R3270012 device-name OPTIONS N

          To install on Digital UNIX, enter the following:

          # setld -l /mnt/r3270 R3270BASE012
