This document provides important information that you need now and possibly later should you purchase an optional DEC FUSE product such as the DEC FUSE Support for C++. Please save it with your Product Authorization Keys (PAKs). Operating System Versions Supported by DEC FUSE DEC FUSE Version 4.0 runs only on systems that are running Digital UNIX Versions 4.0 and higher. A Note on Product Installation When you install DEC FUSE Version 4.0 for Digital UNIX Systems, you are actually installing two products: DEC FUSE and DEC FUSE Support for C++. If your license is only for DEC FUSE, you received a Product Authorization Key (PAK) which, when registered with the License Management Facility (LMF), allows you to use DEC FUSE. Even though DEC FUSE Support for C++ is installed, you cannot access it. To use the C++ Support, you must purchase the license and register the PAK with LMF. Once the PAK is registered, you can use the C++ Support immediately. No additional installation procedure is required. Product Description For a brief product description, along with hardware and software configuration information, review the DEC FUSE Software Product Description (44.71.07) available on the Consolidated Distribution (CD) in the FUS400/documentation directory. Release Notes Information The Release Notes are available on the CD in the FUS400/documentation directory. If your current purchase was only for DEC FUSE and you purchase DEC FUSE Support for C++ at a later date, you will need to refer to the Release Notes at that time. The Release Notes contain important installation-related instructions, known problems, documentation errors, restrictions, and other important information. Take the time to review them before you install the product. User Documentation for All DEC FUSE Products Documentation for DEC FUSE Version 4.0 covers the optional DEC FUSE Support for C++. Documentation for DEC FUSE can be ordered separately or as part of a kit that includes both media and documentation. Refer to the SPD for ordering information. Contents of This Kit Bill Report (BIL) and Bill of Materials (BOM): Read the BIL and BOM enclosed in this kit and check to see that all items listed are actually in your kit. If your kit is damaged or any items are missing, call your Digital representative. Media: If you ordered media, you will find the media and the installation instructions (Installation Instructions: DEC FUSE Version 4.0 for Digital UNIX) in this kit. Like the release notes, the installation instructions cover the optional DEC FUSE Support for C++. Documentation: Depending on your order, this kit includes the following printed documentation: o Installation Instructions: DEC FUSE Version 4.0 for Digital UNIX Systems o DEC FUSE Handbook Note that there is another manual that you should refer to for detailed information about the Debugger integrated with the FUSE environment: Ladebug Debugger Manual: Window and Command-Line Interface.
