               Dear DIGITAL PATHWORKS for OpenVMS Customer,

               The enclosed media contain:

               o  The latest PATHWORKS server product, called PATH-
                  WORKS[TM] V6.0 for OpenVMS[TM] (Advanced Server)

                  This product is an OpenVMS layered application that
                  provides networking functionally equivalent to that
                  of the Windows NT[TM] Server - with additional fea-
                  tures. Please see the Software Product Description
                  for more information.

               o  PATHWORKS V1.0G for OpenVMS (NetWare[R])

               Licenses are purchased separately.

               Please refer to your Server Installation and Configu-
               ration Guide for instructions on how to install these
               products. Also, please read the on-line release notes
               for other important notices.

               Support for Alpha Only

               PATHWORKS V6.0 for OpenVMS (Advanced Server) supports
               OpenVMS V7.1 Alpha only. This product will support
               VAX[TM] processors in the near future. If you are us-
               ing OpenVMS VAX, or earlier releases of OpenVMS, please
               use PATHWORKS V5.0F for OpenVMS (LAN Manager).

               Important Licensing Information

               You must use the new PATHWORKS for OpenVMS (Advanced
               Server) Client Access license with the new PATHWORKS
               V6.0 for OpenVMS (Advanced Server) software. The order
               numbers for this new license are QM-5SUAA-A*. Upgrades
               are also available for those with licenses for prior
               versions of this PATHWORKS server software.

               Product Authorization Keys (PAKs) for the new Client Ac-
               cess licenses are fully supported only by the following
               software:

               o  PATHWORKS V6.0 for OpenVMS (Advanced Server)

                  and

               o  PATHWORKS V5.0F for OpenVMS (LAN Manager)

               Customers using older revisions of the V5.0 server are
               strongly encouraged to upgrade to the V5.0F maintenance
               update, because licenses supported by older revisions
               are no longer offered.

               Note: Some, new OpenVMS Alpha servers include two new
               Client Access licenses, allowing you to start using
               PATHWORKS for OpenVMS immediately.
