DIGITAL Read Before Installing or Using the DEC Ada Version 3.3 Professional Development Option for Digital UNIX Systems AV-PYZRC-TE January 1997 Thank you for purchasing the DEC Ada Version 3.3 for Digital UNIX Systems Professional Development Option. Please take time to read the following information. Installation Information The DEC Ada Version 3.3 Professional Development Option software is a separately licensed part of the kit containing DEC Ada Version 3.3 for Digital UNIX Systems. The DEC Ada Version 3.3 Professional Development Option License provides the License PAK that grants you access to the following features and capabilities: o Smart recompilation This feature can significantly reduce the number of recom- pilations that are needed to rebuild your program after some compilation units change. Smart recompilation allows the compiler to propagate changes quickly through a system, eliminating up to 100% of the usual recompilations. o Program library file-block caching This feature minimizes the actual amount of disk input- output that must be performed by using an in-memory cache of file blocks from the program library files. As a result of file-block caching, the elapsed time for compilations is significantly reduced. o Quick Link This feature is used during program development to reduce the time required to relink large DEC Ada programs after making changes to a small number of units. ___________________ [TM] Bookreader, DEC, DEC Ada, DECdocument, DEC Fortran, DEC FUSE, DECterm, DECthreads, DECwindows, Digital, OpenVMS, VAX DOCU- MENT, and the DIGITAL logo.
