OpenVMStm Alpha Software Products Library June 2003 AV-RDA6V-TE Welcome to this month's OpenVMS Alpha Software Products Library Package. The June 2003 package includes the changes described in the following sections. Software Products Library now offers Web Downloads! --------------------------------------------------- Web downloads are now offered from our website, http://www1.aclabs.com. Special web versions of the Software Products Library Master Indexes now permit you to download the software kits. At the individual product level look for the download link. Your comments regarding our new website are welcomed: odlcdrom@astadia.com Update for Compaq DECram V3.1 ------------------------------ Systems requiring DECram support on OpenVMS V7.3-1 should contact Services for the latest DECram version, V3.1-1HP. The V3.1 DECram kit has been temporarily removed from this release of the Software Library. Mandatory Update for TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Version 5.3 ------------------------------------------------------------- When running TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Version 5.3, some customers may encounter floating-point errors in application code when the NFS Client is accessing a file system served by the OpenVMS NFS Server. To prevent this problem, install the TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Version 5.3 Mandatory Update (MUP), provided on a separate CD-ROM with this version of the Software Products Library. Note that customers who are not using the NFS Server should not encounter this problem. The software and associated documentation on this CD are for use on systems that have hardware warranty, a service contract, or service obligation. The System Tools CD and associated web pages may contain new diagnosis software that is applicable to the system and should be reviewed for the most recent updates to the diagnosis tools. http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/svctools/index.html Mature Product Support Program ------------------------------ HP offers a Mature Product Support service for products that are functionally complete, stable, and have no new versions planned for release. Software Compatibility Matrix ------------------------------ Please refer to the Software Compatibility Matrix or Software Product Description for Operating System Support information. The Software Compatibility Matrix shows the minimum and maximum Operating System versions supported by each software product on the Software Products Library. This matrix is located on disc 1 in the following file: [README]SW_COMPAT_MATRIX.PS (.TXT) Licensing Information --------------------- A valid software product license is required to access and use each software product on the Software Products Library. The subscription service, "Consolidated Distribution and Documentation Service", requires the customer to purchase either a Service Contract that provides the rights to use new versions of software or to purchase the appropriate Software Update License for each version.
