           KAV30 Software Cover Letter

           The VAXELN[TM] KAV Toolkit Extensions for VMS[TM] (KAV30 soft-
           ware) is a layered product that forms an extension to the VAX-
           ELN Toolkit. The VAXELN Toolkit is a set of development tools
           that runs on any VMS system and allows you to develop realtime
           applications quickly and easily for the VAX[TM] family of com-
           puters. The KAV30 software extends the VAXELN Toolkit to sup-
           port the KAV30.

                                       NOTE

              Digital Equipment Corporation does not support user-developed
              software that directly controls the KAV30.

           Installing the KAV30 Software

           Before you install the KAV30 software, read the KAV30 Software
           Installation and System Testing Information manual. In partic-
           ular, read the section that tells you how to prepare to install
           the KAV30 software.

           Required Software

           The system on which you plan to install the KAV30 software must
           include the following software:

           o  VMS Version 5.0 or higher                                         |
                                                                                |
           o  VAXELN Version 4.3                                                |

           Release Notes

           When you complete the KAV30 software installation, read the KAV30
           Release Notes. The following file contains the KAV30 Release Notes:
