Before installing and using NetWorker, please read the following information. Release Notes Please read the release notes before installing NetWorker. The release notes for NetWorker Version 4.2B describe enhancements, features, and restrictions for this release. These release notes are included in your distribution kit on the Digital layered product CD-ROM. The PostScript file is titled brx42b_relnotes.ps and the text file is brx42b_relnotes.txt. See the Software Product Library CD-ROM User's Guide for instructions on how to locate and print the release notes from the CD-ROM. The release notes are also included in the NetWorker Release Notes and Documentation subset (BRXRNOTES422). See the Installation Guide Version 4.2A for instructions on how to install this subset. The installation information in this guide is accurate for this version, except that you should substitute brx42b for every instance of brx42a, and substitute 422 for every instance of 421. License PAK Registration Upon receiving your NetWorker distribution kit, you must register your NetWorker license PAKs. The number and type of license PAKs to register depend on your system's configuration. With respect to license PAKs, please note the following: o Beginning with NetWorker Version 4.2A, use of a sequential loader/stacker device requires the purchase of a Tier-1 Jukebox license. If you use a sequential loader, do not upgrade to NetWorker Version 4.2B until you have installed this license, or you will not be able to use your loader. o NetWorker license PAKs must be registered prior to installing the NetWorker product. o It is essential that you understand the types of licenses and the NetWorker license PAK registration process before registering your NetWorker license PAKs. Only the Release Notes have been updated. Be assured that you have the most current versions of the manuals. Setting Up Your NetWorker Environment After you have successfully completed the installation of your NetWorker server and clients, you are ready to configure NetWorker for your environment. Chapter 5 of the NetWorker Addendum contains information on NetWorker's default settings as well as suggestions to consider as you customize NetWorker for your environment. Please read this information and then refer to the NetWorker Administrator's Guide for specific instructions on configuration tasks.
