Dear PATHWORKS customer,

The enclosed update kit contains media for Compaq PATHWORKS for
OpenVMS (Advanced Server) V6.0C software.

This OpenVMS layered application provides networking func-
tionally equivalent to that of the Windows NT Server -- with
additional features.

PATHWORKS Advanced Server software runs on OpenVMS Operating
System for Alpha and VAX V6.2, V7.1, and V7.2 software and on
OpenVMS Operating System for Alpha V7.2-1 software. Licenses are
purchased separately.

Year 2000 Ready

PATHWORKS for OpenVMS (Advanced Server) V6.0C software is
Year 2000 ready. For more information, see our InfoCenter at

Installation

See the Server Installation and Configuration Guide for instruc-
tions on how to install PATHWORKS (Advanced Server) software;
read the on-line release notes for other important notices.

Licensing Information

You must use the Client Access license with PATHWORKS for Open-
VMS (Advanced Server) V6.0C software. The order numbers for the
Client Access licenses are QM-5SUAA-A*. Upgrades are available
for those with licenses for prior versions of PATHWORKS Advanced
Server software.

Product Authorization Keys (PAKs) for the Client Access licenses
(PWLMXXXCA07.02) are fully supported only by the following
software:

o  Advanced Server for OpenVMS V7.2 and V7.2A software

o  PATHWORKS for OpenVMS (Advanced Server) V6.0, V6.0A, V6.0B,
   and V6.0C software

o  PATHWORKS for OpenVMS (LAN Manager) V5.0F software

Customers using versions of PATHWORKS LAN Manager server prior
to V5.0F and using licenses supported only by older versions
are strongly encouraged to upgrade to V5.0F. Licenses supported
by older versions of the server software are no longer offered.
Only Client Access licenses are offered.

 

Note: Some new OpenVMS Operating System for Alpha servers in-
clude two new Client Access licenses to let you start using
PATHWORKS for OpenVMS (Advanced Server) software immediately.
