 Dear Customer:

 To continue our tradition of providing enhanced Storage Management
 software capability to our customers, Compaq offers a maintenance
 release of the Compaq Storage Library System for OpenVMS[TM],
 Version 2.9D software.

 Storage Library System (SLS) for OpenVMS, Version 2.9D software
 runs on OpenVMS VAX Versions 5.5-2, 6.2, 7.1 and 7.2 and on Open-
 VMS, Alpha Versions 6.2, 7.1, 7.2 and 7.2-1.

 You can use SLS, Version 2.9D in a mixed-architecture OpenVMS VAX
 and Alpha environment.

 SLS Version 2.9D is a bug fix release and also includes support
 for the ESL9326D and TSL10000 libraries. Refer to the release
 notes for details on the bugs fixed with SLS V2.9D.

 The Archive/Backup System for OpenVMS product (ABS) no longer
 ships with SLS. ABS continues to honor the SLS license to allow
 for an easy migration. ABS Version 3.0B can be found as its own
 entry in the consolidated layered software CD. If you have "Update
 Document Services"and you wish to receive the ABS documentation,
 you must now subscribe to it.

 Due to device issues with DSSI and HSC connected loaders, this
 version of SLS is dropping support for the following loaders:
 TF857 and TF867 as well as the TA857 and TA867. We have also added
 a section to the release notes detailing the issues. Please refer
 to the release notes for more information.
