           Description

           The DIGITAL[TM] DECintact [TM] Version 3.0 product adds the fol-
           lowing:

           o  Support for DIGITAL's Alpha Systems

              With DECintact V3.0, customers have the opportunity to move
              their DECintact based TP application suites to DIGITAL's Open-
              VMS [TM] Alpha platform and gain the substantial benefits asso-
              ciated with operating in the Alpha environment.

           o  Year 2000 compliance

              DECintact V3.0 has been prepared for operation across the mil-
              lennium boundary. All known year 2000 problems are fixed in
              DECintact V3.0.


           o  Support for OpenVMS Operating System Version 7.1



           Kit Contents

           The following chart lists all major new and updated components
           of the DIGITAL DECintact for OpenVMS kit. Existing customers with
           valid service contracts will receive only those components that
           are new or updated for this release.

           Installation Information

           The DECintact Supplemental Information and Installation Guide out-
           lines the specific steps for installing DECintact Version 3.0 on
           the OpenVMS Alpha platform. It also identifies changes that apply
           to the existing documentation set and new information pertaining
           to DECintact Version 3.0.

           Read the DECintact Supplemental Information and Installation Guide
           and the DECintact Release Notes for any specific restrictions that
           may apply to your environment.


           Release Notes

           The release notes for DECintact Version 3.0 contain a summary of
           late breaking information, such as known problems, restrictions
           and installation-related instructions.

           After you install DECintact, the release notes can be found in:
