 Dear Disk File Optimizer (DFO) customer:

 Thank you for your recent purchase of Disk File Optimizer (DFO)
 2.5 for OpenVMS. DFO operates in a mixed OpenVMS cluster environ-
 ment. The kit you have just received includes the VAX and Alpha
 versions of Disk File Optimizer 2.5 OpenVMS.

 Disk File Optimizer is Year 2000 Compliant.

 DFO 2.5 is supported on OpenVMS VAX V5.5-2, V6.2, V7.1 and V7.2
 and on OpenVMS Alpha V6.2, V7.1 and V7.2.

 Through customer feedback and continuous improvements, the Disk
 File Optimizer software gets better all the time. Disk File Op-
 timizer for OpenVMS 2.5 has the following changes over Version
 2.5:

 o  Support for OpenVMS 7.2

 o  Support for EV6 processor

 Please refer to the release notes for more details.

 This version of DFO has been compiled with the DEC C compiler and
 therefore requires the DEC C/C++ runtime kit, if you are running
 OpenVMS V5.5-2, the runtime kit is supplied with the DFO kit.
 Because installing this kit may modify your C program development
 environment, please read the DFO Installation Guide carefully.
 This kit is not needed for OpenVMS V6.2 or later.

 DFO V2.5 will be the last version that supports OpenVMS V5.5-2.
 DFO V2.5 will also be the last version that is supplied on 9 track
 tape. If this causes you concern please send email to the product
 manager.
