           Read This Before Installation

           This kit contains the DECnet SNA Gateway for Synchronous Trans-
           port, version 1.2 software and user documentation. Please check
           the bill of materials to see that all the items listed are in
           your distribution kit. If any item is missing or damaged, please
           contact your Digital Equipment Corporation representitive.

           The DECnet SNA Gateway for Synchronous Transport V1.2, supports
           OpenVMS VAX V5.4 or later, OpenVMS AXP V1.5, and LMF requirements.

           The DECnet SNA Gateway for Synchronous Transport documentation set
           includes the following:

           o  DECnet SNA Gateway for Synchronous Transport
              Installation (AA-JE89D-TE)

           o  DECnet SNA Gateway for Synchronous Transport
              Guide to IBM Parameters (AA-JE91D-TE)

           o  DECnet SNA Gateway for Synchronous Transport
              Problem Solving (AA-MA17D-TE)

           o  DECnet SNA Gateway for Synchronous Transport
              Management (AA-LU43D-TE)

           In most cases, the software operates exactly as the Gateway for
           Synchronous Transport product for VAX[TM] systems. Any exceptions
           are noted in the release notes. Digital recommends that you read
           the release notes for any technical issues before you begin in-
           stallation. You can access release notes by responding to prompts
           at the beginning of the installation procedure, before you begin
           to install the software.

           Installation

           Register and load the product's PAK using the OpenVMS License Man-
           agement Facility before you begin installation. Refer to the Open-
           VMS License Management Utility Manual (AA-PVXUA-TK), for complete
           licensing information.

           To install, enter the following:

           $ @SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL SNACST012 device-name OPTIONS N
