Problem Description ------------------- The Multimedia Services V2.4B release notes contains an explanation of each problem that this ECO fixes. THIS ECO IS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE AUDIO SUPPORT FOR CUSTOMERS USING A DIGITAL Personal Workstation "au" Series manufactured after April, 1998. Below is a brief description of each problem addressed by this ECO: ECO # Description/Symptoms ===== ==================== MME2.4-2 1. Required for proper audio operation on DIGITAL Personal Workstations manufactured since April 1998. These systems require DIGITAL UNIX V4.0D, and firmware revision V6.8-20 or later. The firmware revision is shown by the ">>> show config" command following "SRM Console:". When booting the system, the string "ata0: Cypress 82C693" will appear on the console, and in the /var/adm/messages file. The riser card will contain the fairly large "Cypress CY82C693" chip. Previously manufactured systems contain the "Intel 82378" chip. 2. Fix for /usr/bin/mmeserver crash caused by applications using the audio waveform looping capability. Installation Overview --------------------- Install the Multimedia Services V2.4B kit as shipped on the July 1998 DIGITAL UNIX Software Product Library.
