           This package contains the DEC SNA APPC/LU6.2 Tool Kit Version 1.0
           software and documentation. Check the bill of materials to be sure
           that your distribution kit contains all the items listed. Contact
           your Digital representative if any of the items are missing or
           damaged.

           This product consists of two components:

           o  DEC SNA APPC/LU6.2 Tool Kit, which is required for development
              systems.

           o  DEC SNA APPC/LU6.2 Run Time, which is required for all systems
              on which the user-developed application runs.

           Please take a few moments to read the DEC SNA APPC/LU6.2 software
           release notes, which can be found on the distribution media in
           the directory /SNK100/documentation. Refer to the DEC SNA Access
           Software for OSF/1 Installation Guide for information on mounting
           and reading this directory.

           Features

           The DEC SNA APPC/LU6.2 product provides an Application Programming
           Interface that supports communications between an application on
           an OSF/1 system and a cooperating application on an IBM mainfram
           (through either the DEC SNA Peer Server product or other DEC SNA
           gateways using IBM's LU6.2 verbs). The DEC SNA APPC/LU6.2 for
           OSF/1 product is a library of routines that are linked into OSF
           /1 applications. When used with a DEC SNA Peer Server or another
           DEC SNA gateway, this software resides on an OSF/1 system and
           communicates with the gateway using TCP/IP or DECnet Protocols.

           DEC SNA APPC/LU6.2 Tool Kit features include:

           o  Support for systems to share realtime data and applications.

           o  Automatic communication between interactive applications and
              remote systems using LU6.2.

           o  Easy operation that includes a menu-driven operator interface
              with logging and tracing abilities.

           o  Parallel sessions that allow multiple LU6.2 sessions to use the
              same pair of logical units (when communicating through a DEC
              SNA Peer Server product).
