          Introduction

          Thank you for purchasing DEC/EDI FileBridge Version 1.1.
	  This is a new version of DEC/EDI FileBridge which replaces
	  Version 1.0. This new version is now supported and sold as
	  a worldwide product and has been enhanced to include LMF
	  licensing support.

          If you are an existing user of FileBridge for DEC/EDI
	  Version 1.0, you should have purchased the migration
	  license to use with this kit. Please contact your account
	  team if you need further clarification.

          The software installation kit should be installed using
	  VMSINSTAL. Refer to the DEC/EDI FileBridge Installing book
	  for instructions on performing an installation.

          The software installation kit contains a release notes
	  document which provides:

          o  A description of the main changes made in DEC/EDI
	     FileBridge Version 1.1

          o  A detailed description of the problems fixed and
	     enhancements made in Version 1.1

          o  A description of the known remaining problems

          Before installing this software kit you are recommended to
	  read the release notes.






          Accessing the Online Release Notes

          To obtain a copy of the release notes:

          1. Specify OPTIONS N in the VMSINSTAL command:

                $ @SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL fbr011 device: OPTIONS N

             Where device is the name of the device on which the
	     distribution media is to be mounted.

          2. After you have mounted the distribution media, VMSINSTAL
	     displays the following prompt:

                Additional Release Notes Options:

                1. Display release notes
                2. Print release notes
                3. Both 1 and 2
                4. None of the above

                * Select option [2]:

             Enter the number of the option you require.

             You can choose to discontinue installation at this
	     point.

          FBR011.RELEASE_NOTES is the name of the file which contains
	  the release notes in text format. Following a successful
	  installation, this file will be in the SYS$HELP directory.
	  The release notes are also provided in PostScript format in
	  the file FBR$DOC:FBR011_RELEASE_NOTES.PS.

          Important Notes

          Any tables created with versions of DEC/EDI FileBridge
	  prior to this release will have to be recompiled to work
	  with 1.1.
