          Welcome to this month's OpenVMS Alpha Software Product Library
          Package. The March 1998 package includes the changes described
          in the following sections.

          What's new for the NAS Products

          Beginning with this release of the Software Products Library,
          the NAS Packages component products will not ship on separate
          NAS discs within the Software Products Library, but can be found
          on the Software Products Library discs themselves.

          The NAS base kits (including the group license table) and NAS
          documentation are delivered inline on the Software Products
          Library. The NAS component product kits can be obtained as a
          part of the Software Product Library or as separate component
          kits.

          For a complete list of the NAS component products and their disc
          location, please consult the NAS table in the Software Products
          Library Master Index.

          Master Index Table for Enterprise Integration Packages

          Beginning with the March 1998 Software Products Library, the
          Enterprise Integration Packages product matrix is included as
          a separate table within the Software Products Library Master
          Index. Please use this table to locate the products.

          Archive/Backup System

          Customers for Archive/Backup System will find the new release of
          that product in its own directory Library rather than bundled
          into the Storage Library System kit.

          Existing customers will continue to be able to access the new
          2.2 version with their prior SLS license.

          Product Retirements and Removals

          Retirement Notification for StorageWorks Desktop Backup/Archiver

          StorageWorks[TM] Desktop Backup/Archiver (UPILV: 387AA) has
          been removed from this library due to its retirement and end of
          service life.

          Archive/Backup System (ABS) Version 2.2 for OpenVMS offers
          equivalent functionality to StorageWorks Desktop Backup/Archiver
          customers using NT[TM] systems. ABS 2.2 is available on this
          library package.

          Retirement Notification for POSIX[R]

          Software Product Services wishes to inform you that Digital
          Equipment Corporation has begun a retirement process for POSIX
          for OpenVMS. As a result of this product retirement, Software
          Product Services for this product will no longer be available as
          of June 30, 1999.

          Telephone support for POSIX for OpenVMS will be provided in
          accordance with the provisions of your maintenance contract
          through, but not beyond June 30, 1999. Warranty customers will
          receive support throughout their initial warranty agreement.

          Your Local Digital Sales Representative is available to discuss
          the transition process or any questions that you may have.
