                       DIGITAL KAP Fortran/OpenMP Version 4.0
                            for DIGITAL UNIX Cover Letter

                           Please Read Before Installation

                                      June 1998


          1  DIGITAL KAP Fortran/OpenMP Kit

          Version 4.0 of DIGITAL KAP Fortran/OpenMP includes two products:

          o  DIGITAL KAP Fortran/OpenMP for DIGITAL UNIX provides full
             support of the OpenMP Fortran Application Program Interface
             for use with Fortran 5.1. This product is the successor
             to the DIGITAL KAP Fortran 90 Version 3.2 product. Minor
             enhancements and corrections to problems reported against
             Version 3.2 are also included.

          o  DIGITAL KAP for DIGITAL Fortran Version 3.2 for DIGITAL UNIX
             for use with DIGITAL Fortran 77 compiler. Minor corrections
             to problems reported against Version 3.2 are also included.

          Both products can parallelize application codes for symmet-
          ric multiprocessor (SMP) systems using automatic and directed
          parallel decomposition.

          This software requires DIGITAL UNIX Version 4.0D.

          DIGITAL Fortran 5.1 is a prerequisite layered product for DIGI-
          TAL KAP Fortran/OpenMP. If DIGITAL Fortran 5.1 is not installed
          at the time of the installation, the user will be notified and
          the Installation Verification Procedure (IVP) will not run.

          The installation of DIGITAL KAP Fortran/OpenMP requires 15 MB of
          disk storage.

          DIGITAL KAP Fortran/OpenMP for DIGITAL UNIX is available on the
          DIGITAL UNIX Layered Products CD-ROM. It is also available as an
          individual product option. The order number is QA-4GAAA-H8.
