           HUBwatch[TM] for OpenVMS[TM] VAX[TM] Software Version 3.1

           Dear Customer,

           The HUBwatch for OpenVMS VAX, Version 3.1, software product is a
           network management application used to manage the DEChub family
           of products including the DEChub 900 MultiSwitch, DEChub 90, and
           DEChub ONE hubs and the GIGAswitch[TM]. The product features a
           graphic user interface (GUI) based on Motif[TM] windows.

           The HUBwatch GUI has the following features:

           o  Two views of the hub front panel-a physical view and a logi-
              cal view-that show the installed modules and their operating
              status.

           o  LAN Interconnect views that display and manage the configura-
              tion of LAN segments on the DEChub 900 MultiSwitch backplane.

           o  Management windows that display real-time information about
              each module installed in the hub and enable modification, or
              management, of module operating characteristics.

           o  Views for managing GIGAswitch protocol and address filtering.

           o  Award-winning, Motif windows online help that describes each
              HUBwatch window and its associated management tasks.

           product.

           HUBwatch Release Notes

           Before installing the HUBwatch software, read the release notes.
           The release notes are on the HUBwatch distribution media. The
           VMSINSTAL installation procedure includes options for printing
           hardcopy of the release notes or reading them online. The release
           notes include important information that was not included in the
           printed manuals or the HUBwatch online help.

           HUBwatch Installation Procedure

                                           NOTE

              HUBwatch software requires that each of your hubs, network
              modules, and switches is running the most recently released
              version of the firmware. To ensure that you have the latest
              functionality and quality of firmware, we have included the
              most recently released DEChub firmware kit in the HUBwatch
              software distribution kit. Please update all of your devices.

           To install the HUBwatch software, follow the instructions in the
           HUBwatch Installation and Configuration manual. This manual is
           included with the media in the software distribution kit.
