Cover Letter for POLYCENTER Security Intrusion Detector V1.2A for
OpenVMS VAX MUP Kit RIDVMUPA120.%.

           This letter accompanies the Mandatory Update (MUP) software revi-
           sion kit to be installed by all worldwide customers of the POLY-
           CENTER Security ID software. This software revision is POLYCENTER
           Security ID Version 1.2A.

           Purpose

           POLYCENTER Security Intrusion Detector V1.2A for OpenVMS[TM] is
           an updated release of V1.2 which has various customer reported
           bugs fixed. There are no new features in this update release. The
           following bugs are fixed:

           o  POLYCENTER Security ID crashed if a DECnet/OSI address in nu-
              meric format was received within an audit record.

           o  POLYCENTER Security ID's audit server listening mailbox was too
              small for various audit records generated by the audit server.

           o  POLYCENTER Security ID continuously reported a file locking
              problem when it was running in an OpenVMS cluster environment.

           o  The RID SEND INTRUDERS command did not work with DECnet/OSI
              fullnames.

Installation Overview

The MUP kit is installed with the VMSINSTAL command procedure.

A system reboot is not necessary.
