               Contents of this Kit

               This kit contains POLYCENTER Framework, Version 1.4
               (formerly called DECmcc[TM] Director). The basic fea-
               tures of DECmcc are included.


               Extended Functionalities

               The functionalities may be extended by installing the
               following products :

               o  For diagnostics install POLYCENTER Fault Diagnostics
                  product.

               o  For Historical and Export services install product
                  POLYCENTER Framework Historian Option

               o  For Notification services install product POLYCENTER
                  Framework Notification Option.

               o  For Statistics install product POLYCENTER Network
                  Statistics Option.

               o  For autoconfiguration install POLYCENTER Network
                  Topology Option.

               o  For LAN management functions you may install POLYCEN-
                  TER Extended LAN manager.

               o  For developping Access Modules or Functional modules
                  install product POLYCENTER Framework Development
                  Toolkit.

                  CENTER Terminal Server Access Module for OpenVMS.

               To run this product you need a license for DECMCC-
               DIRECTOR.

               Release Notes Information

               The POLYCENTER Framework release notes for Version 1.4
               are part of the distribution kit. You should read the
               release notes because they contain important product
               considerations.

               o  For VMS systems, you can access the release notes as
                  part of the installation by specifying OPTIONS N when
                  you invoke VMSINSTAL:

                  $ @SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL MCCDIR014 ddcn: OPTIONS N

                  If you use OPTIONS N with VMSINSTAL, you are asked
                  whether you want the release notes displayed, printed
                  (or both), copied to SYS$HELP, or none of these op-
                  tions.

               o  For ULTRIX systems, you can access the release notes
                  as part of the installation by specifying the setld
                  -1 command and the file name for the tape drive where
                  the media is mounted. For example:

                  # setld -l /dev/rmt0h

                  Select release notes from the menu.
