Hewlett-Packard November 2008 Dear HP Media Robot Utility Customer, Thank you for your recent purchase of either Media Robot Utility (MRU) software or an HP library, or loader, which includes MRU software. The kit you have just received includes MRU software, Version 1.8B for OpenVMS systems on Integrity servers and Alpha. MRU software provides direct robotic control for the HP family of DAT, DLT, SDLT, TL8xx, ESL9xxx, EML E-Series, SSL2xxx, MSL5xxx libraries, MSL6xxx, MSL2024 and MSL4048 libraries, the TKZ libraries and loaders, and 1x8 Autoloader. It includes a command line interface, a graphic user interface, and an application-programming interface. MRU software includes the following commands for operating media loaders and libraries: Load, Unload, Inject, Eject, Show, Move, Ready, Lock, Unlock, Reserve, Release, Find, Home, Initialize, and Help. MRU software is licensed to a single system. Each license purchased is for one system. If you receive MRU software with a Library or Loader, you are licensed to run it on a single system and only for the obtained version. Right to subsequent releases is through a service contract with the Customer Support Center. Please refer to the MRU V1.8B SPD for current compatibility of operating system versions and new hardware devices. In support of HP's Green Business Technology Initiative and move towards electronic delivery, OpenVMS is restricting future updates of printed manuals to major product updates. Updated documentation for this release of HP MRU is delivered within the product release notes. The release notes are included in the MRU directory on the Product Library media. Current printed manuals are unchanged and appropriate for use with this product update.
