          Getting Started with Compaq Enterprise Integration Packages

          Software for all products licensed by the Compaq Enterprise
          Integration Packages is available on the OpenVMS Alpha Software
          Product Library (SPL). (Most OpenVMS AlphaServer Systems now
          include the Enterprise Integration Packages.)

          The Enterprise Integration Packages Installation Guide can help
          you find, install, and configure the components licensed by the
          Enterprise Integration Packages.

          This guide, along with the Enterprise Integration Packages
          Software Product Description (SPD), is in the SPL in the
          [DEIS031.DOCUMENTATION] directory. The SPL Master Index will
          list the SPL disc containing this directory. The Enterprise In-
          tegration Packages Installation Guide explains how to access
          the installation and configuration information for the products
          listed above.

          See the SPL Master Index for the location of the Enterprise
          Integration Packages products and see the Online Documentation
          Library (ODL) Master Index for the location of the product
          documentation. These Master Indexes are also in the [README]
          directory on disc 1 of both the SPL and ODL.


          Retirement of DECwindows Motif Local Language Versions - June
          2000

          As previously announced, the following DECwindows Motif Local
          Language Versions have been retired by Compaq. They are removed
          from Enterprise Integration Packages with the June 2000 release
          of the Software Products Library.

             DECwindows Motif OpenVMS UI/Cesky
             DECwindows Motif OpenVMS UI/Español
             DECwindows Motif OpenVMS UI/Français
             DECwindows Motif OpenVMS UI/Italiano
             DECwindows Motif OpenVMS UI/Magyar
             DECwindows Motif OpenVMS UI/Polski
             DECwindows Motif OpenVMS UI/Russkij
             DECwindows Motif OpenVMS UI/Slovensky

          The EIP Installation Guide will be updated to reflect these
          removals with the next release of EIP.

 






          Changes in the Enterprise Integration Packages with Release 3.1,
          March 2000

          o  The new name of this product is Compaq Enterprise Integration
             Packages for OpenVMS Alpha Systems.

          o  Beginning with this release, Compaq Archive Backup System
             for OpenVMS Management Tools and Compaq Archive Backup System
             Windows NT Client are shipped on the SPL CD set as subsets of
             the Compaq Archive Backup System base kit. Please refer to
             the SPL Master Index for disc and directory.

             Please note: Installation requirements for Compaq Archive
             Backup for OpenVMS Management Tools will vary according to
             system configuration and user needs. Please refer to the
             Installation Guide for Compaq Archive Backup System, V3.0A.

          o  OpenVMS Disk Services for Windows NT (NTDS) has not entered
             retirement as previously announced, and will continue to be
             included in the Enterprise Integration Packages.


          Netscape Navigator Version

          Version 3.03A of Netscape Navigator for OpenVMS is included
          on the OpenVMS Alpha Software Product Library. This version
          is functionally identical to Version 3.03 on our Web site.
          If updates to this software become available before the next
          release of the OpenVMS Alpha SPL, they will be available through
          this Web site, www.openvms.digital.com.
