The PL/I for OpenVMS Systems Installation Guide describes how to access these notes. o Product Authorization Keys (PAKs): Use the Product Authorization Key that you received in your V4.0 PL/I for OpenVMS AXP kit. o This Letter Page 2 Installation Information To install version 4.2 of OpenVMS PL/I, follow the installation procedure in the PL/I for OpenVMS Systems Installation Guide for Version 4.0 with the following exceptions: o On OpenVMS versions prior to 7.0, if you currently have the PL/I RTL installed, remove the file manu- ally prior to the installation of DEC PL/I 4.2. If you do not remove this file file, the newest RTL will not be installed. $ DIR SYS$LIBRARY:DPLI$RTLSHR.EXE Directory SYS$COMMON:[SYSLIB] DPLI$RTLSHR.EXE;1 Total of 1 file. $ DELETE SYS$LIBRARY:DPLI$RTLSHR.EXE; o Prior versions of PL/I for OpenVMS Systems included a special debugger. This is not included in Version 4.2 since the functionality is now built into the VMS operating system. o Block usage for this kit is slightly greater than for Version 4.0. Current peak usage during installa- tion is 12,000 blocks. o Version 4.0 contained five savesets, A through E. Version 4.2 contains four, A through D, since the debugger was in saveset E.
