          Dear Reliable Transaction Router Customer,

          Enclosed is a combined media and documentation kit for Version
          2.2D and Version 3.1C of Reliable Transaction Router. Reliable
          Transaction Router, Version 3.1C for OpenVMS Alpha offers:

          o  Reliable Transaction Router Version 2 wrapper routines that
             allow existing RTR V2 based applications to run without
             change on Version 3.1C;

          o  Support for TCP/IP or DECnet or both as the network trans-
             port;

          o  An ODBC server for use with RTR clients that use the ODBC
             interface.

          If you are developing new applications for Reliable Transaction
          Router you are encouraged to use Reliable Transaction Router,
          Version 3.1C.

          Users wishing to move existing applications from Reliable Trans-
          action Router Version 2 to Version 3.1C are encouraged to verify
          and recertify their applications against the significant number
          of new features in Reliable Transaction Router, Version 3.1C for
          OpenVMS Alpha.

          Reliable Transaction Router, Version 3.1C for OpenVMS Alpha
          is a maintenance upgrade release; the Version 3.1B Software
          Product Description (SPD) and user documentation are valid for
          this release. Please refer to the Release Notes for further
          information (Release Notes are supplied in electronic form with
          the software kit).
