                         KAP Fortran Version 3.2 for OpenVMS

                           Please Read Before Installation


          1  KAP Fortran Kit

          Version 3.2 of KAP Fortran contains major new functions to sup-
          port Fortran 90. Please refer to the release notes for details.

          This software requires OpenVMS Alpha Version 7.2 or higher
          running on an Alpha system. Compaq Fortran is a prerequisite
          layered product. If Compaq Fortran is not installed at the time
          of the installation, the Installation Verification Procedure
          (IVP) will fail.

          The installation of KAP Fortran requires 24,000 blocks of disk
          space.

          KAP Fortran is available on CD-ROM as part of the Compaq OpenVMS
          Alpha Layered Products Disk.

          2  KAP Fortran Documentation

          The documentation kit is available in hardcopy format and con-
          tains the following documents:

          o  KAP Fortran for OpenVMS User Guide

          o  KAP Fortran for OpenVMS Installation Guide

          The order number is QA-0HAAA-GZ.3.2.

          The user guide is also available on the Compaq OpenVMS Online
          Documentation Library (QA-0HAAA-H8) in HTML format for viewing
          with a Web browser.

          3  KAP Fortran Release Notes

          The release notes contain important instructions, a summary of
          changes, and other relevant information. After installation, the
          online release notes can be found in SYS$HELP:KFORT_032.RELEASE_
          NOTES.

 






          4  Reporting Problems and Comments

          If you encounter a problem while using this product, report it
          to Compaq. Depending on the nature of the problem and the type
          of support you have, you can take one of the following actions:

          o  Call Compaq if your software contract or warranty agreement
             entitles you to telephone support.

          o  Submit a Software Performance Report (SPR).
