                        Compaq KAP Fortran/OpenMP Version 4.2
                             for Tru64 UNIX Cover Letter

          1  Compaq KAP Fortran/OpenMP Kit

          Version 4.2 of Compaq KAP Fortran/OpenMP includes two products:

          o  Compaq KAP Fortran/OpenMP for Tru64 UNIX provides full sup-
             port of the OpenMP Fortran Application Program Interface for
             use with Fortran 5.1 and 5.2.

          o  DIGITAL KAP for DIGITAL Fortran V3.2 for DIGITAL UNIX for use
             with the DIGITAL Fortran 77 compiler.

          Both products can parallelize application codes for symmet-
          ric multiprocessor (SMP) systems using automatic and directed
          parallel decomposition.

          This software requires DIGITAL UNIX Version 4.0D - 4.0E or
          Compaq Tru64 UNIX Version 4.0F or 5.0 and the Developers ToolKit
          (SPD 44.36).

          DIGITAL Fortran 5.1 or 5.2 is a prerequisite layered product for
          Compaq KAP Fortran/OpenMP. If one of these is not installed at
          the time of the installation, the user will be notified and the
          Installation Verification Procedure (IVP) will not run.

          The installation of Compaq KAP Fortran/OpenMP requires 15 MB of
          disk storage.

          Compaq KAP Fortran/OpenMP for Tru64 UNIX is available on the
          Tru64 UNIX Layered Products CD-ROM. It is also available as an
          individual product option. The order number is QA-4GAAA-H8.4.1.

          The user documentation has been updated for this release:

          o  Compaq KAP Fortran/OpenMP for Tru64 UNIX User Guide

          o  Compaq KAP Fortran/OpenMP for Tru64 UNIX Installation Guide

          The documentation kit is available in hardcopy format from
          Compaq. The order number is QA-4GAAA-GZ.4.1.

          The User Guide is also available on the Tru64 UNIX Online Docu-
          mentation Library CD-ROM. You can access the online document in
          HTML format through your Netscape browser.

          The release notes contain important instructions, a summary of
          changes and new features, and other relevant information. Please
          review the release notes before you install and start using the
          product. After installation, the release notes can be found in

          /usr/opt/KF9BASE420/KF9420_release_note.txt.
