          This version contains bug fixes for DIGITAL Capacity Planner for
          OpenVMS. This release supports OpenVMS Version 7.1. Please refer
          to your version 4.0A Release Notes for a complete description.


          1 Installation Notes

          Install this kit with the VMSINSTAL utility by logging into the
          SYSTEM account and typing the following at the DCL prompt:

          @SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL ECP040A [Location of the savesets]

          2 General Notes

          Kit Contents

          Please read the enclosed Parts List. Check to determine that all
          listed items are in your kit. If any items are missing, contact
          your DIGITAL representative.

          The DIGITAL Capacity Planner Version 4.0A kit contains the
          following documentation:

          o  Capacity Planner Version 4.0A Installation Instructions

          o  Capacity Planner Version 4.0 User Documentation

          o  Capacity Planner Version 4.0 Reference Guide

          Installation Information

          The Release Notes contain information not found in the manuals.
          Print and use the Release Notes during the installation process.

          DIGITAL Capacity Planner for OpenVMS Version 4.0A works with
          either Version 2.0A, 2.1, or 2.2 of the POLYCENTER Performance
          Data Collector.

          Make sure that you have installed OpenVMS Alpha Versions 6.0,
          6.1, 6.2, or 7.1 or OpenVMS VAX Version 5.5-2, or Versions 6.0
          to 7.1, which are the correct versions of the operating system
          for your environment.

 






          For the DECwindows Motif user interface, make sure that DECwin-
          dows Motif Version 1.2 or newer is installed on your system.

          The System Support Addendum (SSA) contains a complete list of
          the products that are compatible with this version of the DIG-
          ITAL Capacity Planner. The SSA is part of the Software Product
          Description (SPD 36.04.10).

          Order of installation is important to the proper operation of
          your Capacity Planner module. Make sure that it is the last
          POLYCENTER Performance Solution module installed. That is,
          install POLYCENTER Performance Data Collector, Version 2.0A
          or 2.1, followed by the POLYCENTER Performance Advisor Version
          2.0A or 2.1, and then the Capacity Planner.

          Note that POLYCENTER Accounting Chargeback is not affected by
          installation order.
