Installation Information DEC Ada Version 3.3 for Digital UNIX Systems requires Digital UNIX Version 3.2G, 4.0, or 4.0B. The name of the DEC OSF/1 operating system has been changed to the Digital UNIX operating system. Any references to DEC OSF/1 are synonymous with Digital UNIX unless specified otherwise. For this release, the DEC Ada media and documentation ship on compact discs (CD-ROMs) as follows: o The Digital UNIX Layered Products Software Binaries CD- ROM contains subset and related documentation in ASCII and POSTSCRIPT[R] format. For DEC Ada, the /kit directory contains the following components: - DEC Ada compiler and program library manager (ADABASE330) - DEC Ada predefined library (ADAPAL330) - DEC Ada Run-Time Library (ADALIB322 or ADALIB401) This version of DEC Ada ships with two versions of the run-time library. Licensing Information To install DEC Ada Version 3.3 for Digital UNIX Systems, you must first register a License Product Authorization Key (License PAK) using the License Management Facility (LMF). The License PAK may be shipped along with the kit if you ordered the license and media together. Otherwise, it is shipped separately to a location based on your license order. There are three kinds of licenses for DEC Ada Version 3.3: o Unlimited License-License units are allocated on an unlimited system use basis. o Personal Use License-Each personal use license allows one identified individual to use the layered product. o Concurrent Use License-Each concurrent use license allows any one process at a time to use the layered product. See the Software Product Library CD-ROM User's Guide for more information on the license requirements for using the Bookreader to read the DEC Ada documentation. 3 Release Notes Information The DEC Ada Verstion 3.3 Release Notes for Digital UNIX Systems contain important installation-related instructions, compatibil- ity information, new features, current restrictions, programming considerations, and other important information. You can read the release notes after installing DEC Ada Ver- sion 3.3 or by installing the ADADOC330 subset. Once you have installed DEC Ada Version 3.3 or the ADADOC330 subset, you can read the release notes by entering the following command: % cat /usr/lib/cmplrs/ada_330/release_notes.txt Contents of This Kit o Indented Bill Report (BIL) and Bill of Materials (BOM) Please read the Indented Bill Report (BIL) and Bill of Mate- rials (BOM) enclosed in this kit and check to see that all items listed are actually in your kit. If your kit is damaged or any items are missing, call your Digital representative. o Media The CD-ROM distribution kit contains the DEC Ada software and online documentation. On the Binaries CD-ROM, you will find the DEC Ada subsets.
