           Compaq KAP C/OpenMP for Version 4.0 for Tru64 UNIX Cover Letter

          1  Compaq KAP for C/OpenMP Kit

          Version 4.0 of Compaq KAP C/OpenMP introduces support of OpenMP
          parallel directives on SMP or shared memory configurations. The
          automatic parallelization of C programs now generates OpenMP
          directives, which are processed by the Compaq C compiler. Hence
          the distribution kit no longer contains the parallel run-time
          library (libkmp.a).

          Corrections to problems reported against the previous version
          are also included.

          This software requires DIGITAL UNIX Version 4.0D, 4.0E or Compaq
          Tru64 UNIX 4.0F or 5.0. To take advantage of the parallel decom-
          position functionality you also need a Compaq C compiler that
          can process the OpenMP directives. This capability is present in
          the C compiler that is distributed with Tru64 UNIX version 5.0
          and in the Developer's Toolkit for Tru64 UNIX 4.0D, 4.0E, 4.0F
          and 5.0 (SPD 44.36).

          The installation of Compaq KAP C/OpenMP requires 10 MB of disk
          storage.

          KAP C/OpenMP for Tru64 UNIX is available on the Tru64 UNIX
          Layered Products disk. It is also available as an individual
          product option. The order number is QA-0HHAA-H8.4.0.

          The user documentation has been updated for this release:

          o  Compaq KAP C/OpenMP for Tru64 UNIX Installation Guide

          The documentation kit is available in hardcopy format from
          Compaq. The order number is QA-0HHAA-GZ.4.0.

          Documentation is also available on the Tru64 UNIX Online Docu-
          mentation Library CD-ROM. The document is in HTML format through
          your Netscape browser.
