          Thank you for purchasing Compaq Multimedia Services Version 2.2-1
          for OpenVMS Alpha Runtime or Development kit for your Alpha
          system. The runtime or development license entitles you to
          software and documentation for your OpenVMS Alpha systems.

          Compaq Multimedia Services Version 2.2-1 for OpenVMS Alpha re-
          quires Version 7.3-2 or Version 8.2 and higher of the OpenVMS 
          Alpha software.


          Product Contents on the Binary and On-line Documentation Compact
          Discs

	  Compaq Multimedia Services Version 2.2-1 for OpenVMS Alpha is
	  primarily a rebuild of the Version 2.2 kit for proper operation
	  on OpenVMS Alpha V8.2.  Also included are fixes for bugs that have
	  been reported since the prior Multimedia Services release.

	  ALL OF THE DOCUMENTATION SHIPPED FOR MULTIMEDIA SERVICES V2.2
	  REMAINS VALID FOR THIS NEW RELEASE (V2.2-1).

          Compaq Multimedia Services Version 2.2-1 for OpenVMS Alpha Run-
          time and Development products are distributed on the OpenVMS
          Alpha Software Product Library. The Compaq Multimedia Services
          Version 2.2 for OpenVMS Alpha Programmer's and Run-Time Guides
          are distributed on the OpenVMS Alpha Layered Products On-line
          Documentation CD-ROM in HTML format.

          The following sections describe each kit.

          Compaq Multimedia Services Version 2.2-1 for OpenVMS Alpha Runtime
          Software

          Compaq Multimedia Services Version 2.2-1 for OpenVMS Alpha Runtime
          includes the runtime environment to support the software JPEG
          compressor/decompressor, audio, Compaq Creative Labs AudioPCI
          card (Ensoniq 1373 chip), and the Microsoft Sound Board for the
          Compaq AlphaStation system.

          Compaq Multimedia Services Version 2.2-1 for OpenVMS Alpha De-
          velopment includes the full development environment to write
          applications that use the software JPEG compressor/decompressor,
          audio, the FullVideo Supreme and the Microsoft Sound Board for
          the Compaq AlphaStation system.

          Refer to the Compaq Multimedia Services Version 2.2 for OpenVMS
          Software Product Description for a complete description of this
          product. Compaq recommends that you read the Multimedia Services
          release notes before you install this product.

          The Programmer's Guide and the Run-Time Environment Guide are
          available in printed form and separately orderable (Order num-
          bers QA-4G8AA-GZ, QA-4G9AA-GZ).
