         The enclosed media contain:

         o  PATHWORKS V5.0F for OpenVMS (LAN Manager)

         o  PATHWORKS V1.0F for OpenVMS (NetWare)

         As with the previous release, DIGITAL has combined these two products
         in one distribution kit. Licenses are still purchased separately.

         Please refer to your existing Server Installation and Upgrade Guide
         for instructions on how to install the LAN Manager server, the NetWare
         server, or both. Also, please read the on-line release notes for other
         important notices regarding these releases.
                                          

         Important information for users:

         * As of September 1, 1997, V5.0F will support the new Client Access
         licenses. 

         * Prior versions of PATHWORKS for OpenVMS (LAN Manager) will not
         support or recognize Client Access licenses. Client Access licenses
         will replace the licenses sold today. Organizations must upgrade to
         V5.0F if they plan to add clients to their environments after
         September 1, 1997 since V5.0F, at a minimum, will be required for new
         clients.
                 
         * The Client Access licensing applies only to PATHWORKS V5.0F for
         OpenVMS (LAN Manager) and PATHWORKS V6.0 for OpenVMS (Advanced Server)
         server.
