          MUP Kit Version 3.0A Description

          The Commserver V3.0A Release Notes contain a complete explana-
          tion of this release. Below is a brief description:

             Under certain heavy loads on the CPU the system can crash.
             A bug was found and corrected in module RJ_XMITDATA in the
             RJDRIVER code for openVMS, versions 5.5 and 6.1. This bug did
             not exist under AXP VMS.

             The 2780 protocol as shipped by Simpact Associates, Inc.
             and included in the Commserver Version 3.0 would not allow a
             remote terminal to log in as Master, as it should have. The
             protocol was modified to match the spec.

             The 3270 protocol as shipped by Simpact Associates, Inc. and
             included in the Commserver Version 3.0 would not autodial
             a modem for connection with a remote line correctly. The
             protocol was corrected to perform as advertised.

          Installation Overview

          The MUP kit is installed with the VMSINSTAL command procedure.

             @sys$update:VMSINSTAL COMMSERVER030A <input_device> N

          Example:

             @sys$update:VMSINSTAL COMMSERVER030A MKA500: N

          A system reboot is then necessary to actually restart the prod-
          uct. Re-startup uses the same startup procedure(s) as does
          Version 3.0.
