           Thank you for purchasing the DEC SNA Remote Job Entry software
           (DEC RJE). This package contains the DEC RJE Version 1.0 software
           and documentation. Check the bill of materials to be sure that
           your distribution kit contains all the items listed. Contact your
           Digital representative if any of the items are missing or damaged.

           Please take a few moments to read the DEC RJE software release
           notes, which can be found on the distribution media in the direc-
           tory /SNR100/documentation. Refer to DEC SNA Access Software for
           OSF/1 Installation Guide for information on mounting and reading
           this directory.

           Features

           The DEC SNA Remote Job Entry for OSF/1 (RJE) is a software product
           that provides efficient, high-speed batch job transfer and sub-
           mission between Digital OSF/1 systems and IBM mainframe systems
           over an IBM SNA network through either the DEC SNA Peer Server or
           other DEC SNA gateways. When used with the DEC SNA Peer Server or
           other DEC SNA gateways, this software resides on an OSF/1 system
           and communicates with the gateway using either TCP/IP or DECnet
           protocols.

           DEC Remote Job Entry (RJE) features include:

           o  Data compression/expansion and compaction.

           o  Comprehensive error recovery and reporting facilities.

           o  Multiuser support that allows several users to submit batch
              jobs simultaneously to the emulator.

           o  Dynamic output execution that allows users to route job output
              to any directory.

           o  Full 3770 device support that provides users with the same
              file transfer capabilities as an IBM 3770 Multiple Logical
              Unit (MLU) Remote Job Entry Workstation. It includes full IBM
              device support, such as console, printer, diskette storage,
              card reader, and card punch.

           o  Peripheral Data Interchange Record (PDIR) Support that allows
              data sent by the host in the PDIR to be used by RJE to rename
              the received job file and route it to a particular user or
              route it to a particular program for further processing.
