Hewlett-Packard Read Before Installing or Using HP DECset Version 12.5 for OpenVMS Systems AV-RPTDB-TE August 2003 Your DECset kit consists of a group of programmer productivity tools that aid in the development of system or application soft- ware on an OpenVMS system. The updated product components for this release include Code Management System, Digital Test Man- ager, Language-Sensitive Editor, and Module Management System, as well as the DECset Environment Manager that provides a single mechanism for tailoring the execution environment. All other DECset components are identical to those for the prior DECset release. DECset for OpenVMS Systems, Version 12.5, consists of the fol- lowing components: o Code Management System (CMS), Version 4.2 o Digital Test Manager, Version 4.1 o Language-Sensitive Editor/Source Code Analyzer (LSE/SCA), Version 4.8 o Module Management System (MMS), Version 3.5 o Performance and Coverage Analyzer (PCA), Version 4.7A (Al- pha), Version 4.7 (VAX) Licensing Information Before you install DECset Version 12.5, you must first reg- ister a License Product Authorization Key (License PAK) using the License Management Facility (LMF). The License PAK may be shipped along with the kit if you ordered the license and media together. Otherwise, it is shipped to a separate location based on your license order. There are three kinds of licenses for DECset Version 12.5: o Unlimited License-Allocates license units on an unlimited system use basis. o Personal Use License-Allocates use of the layered product to one identified individual. o Concurrent use License-Allocates use of the layered product to any one process at a time. Release Notes Information The release notes for each of the components that comprise the DECset kit contain information about new features, corrected errors, performance enhancements, restrictions, known problems, and incompatibilities.
