          Compaq Data Transfer Facility for Tru64 UNIX

          Dear Customer,

          Thank you for purchasing the Compaq Data Transfer Facility for
          Tru64 UNIX, Version 1.0A software product (hereafter referred 
          to as DTF for UNIX).

          Features

          DTF for UNIX is a layered product that provides data trans- 
          fer capabilities between IBM systems in an Systems Network
          Architecture (SNA) environment, and Compaq nodes in a Compaq
          network. DTF for UNIX provides comprehensive, bidirectional
          access between UNIX systems and IBM OS/390 system.

          There are two components to the Compaq Data Transfer Facility 
          for Tru64 UNIX, Version 1.0A product:

          . Data Transfer Facility for Tru64 UNIX (DTF/DU Version 1.0A
     
          . Mainframe Data Transfer Facility (MDU) Version 3.2, an IBM 
            resident component

          Documentation

          The Compaq Data Transfer Facility for UNIX software docu-
          mentation set consists of the following manual (dated May
          1996):

          o  Data Transfer Facility for Digital UNIX - Client DTF
             (AA-QUPJA-TK)

          The manual listed above is current for this release of the
          product. For information specific to Version 1.0A, please re-
          fer to the product's Release Notes.  Documentation is available 
          in online format as part of the Tru64 UNIX Online Documentation
          Library on CD-ROM. Hardcopy documentation may also be ordered. 
          If you need to order any additional documentation, please contact 
          your Compaq sales representative.

          Installation

          Register and load the product's PAK using the Tru64 UNIX 
          License Management Facility before you begin installation. 
          Refer to the Tru64 UNIX License Management Utility Manual for
          complete licensing information.

	  The Data Transfer Facility for Digital UNIX - Client DTF 
 	  manual contains an example of how to register and load the
	  PAK.

	  The manual also includes instructions and an example of
	  how to install the product.


          Compaq recommends that you read the Release Notes for any tech-
          nical issues before you begin installation.
