Layered Products Media The DIGITAL UNIX Layered Products media, which contain WAN Support, comprise two types of Compact Disc:[1] o DIGITAL UNIX Software Product Library CD-ROM, which contains the installable subsets, Installation Guide, and Release Notes (in ASCII and PostScript[R] form) for each layered product. o DIGITAL UNIX Online Documentation Library CD-ROM, which contains user documentation in Bookreader[R] form. Contents of the Media Kit o Bill of Materials (BOM) Please read the BOM enclosed in this kit and verify that all items listed are actually in your kit. If your kit is damaged or any items are missing, call your DIGITAL support representative. o Media The Software Product Library CD-ROM contains the WAN Support directory: /XXA300 and installable subsets. For information about installing WAN Support on your system, refer to the Installation Information section of this Cover Letter. It is provided on line. ___________________ [2] On the special May CD, a Read Me First letter, located in the root directory of the CD, replaces the CD booklet. 2 Release Notes Information The Release Notes for WAN Support contain installation-related instructions and a summary of technical changes, known problems, restrictions, and incompatibilities. DIGITAL recommends that you read the Release Notes before installing WAN Support. The Release Notes are located on the DIGITAL UNIX Software Product Library CD-ROM in PostScript (.PS) and ASCII (.TXT) form in the directory: /XXA300/documentation Installation Information Installing WAN Support requires the DIGITAL UNIX Operating System Version 4.0. WAN Support files are stored in the directory: /XXA300 on the Software Product Library CD. The following WAN Support files are provided: o The WAN Support installable subsets, which are located in: /XXA300/kit o The WAN Support installation guide (WAN Support for DIGITAL UNIX Systems - Installation Guide), this cover letter, and the Software Product Description (SPD) are provided as files in PostScript (.PS) and ASCII (.TXT) form in the directory: /XXA300/documentation License Management Facility (LMF) Information A License Management Facility (LMF) Product Authorization Key (PAK) allows you to access a software product and its documenta- tion in Bookreader format. A PAK must be registered and loaded before you can install WAN Support from the DIGITAL CD-ROM Soft- ware Library for DIGITAL UNIX Layered Products. Refer to the CD Read Me First letter for information on LMF requirements needed to read the WAN Support documentation using Bookreader. Accessing Bookreader Documentation To enable access to the WAN Support Bookreader files, your sys- tem manager needs to define the DECW_BOOK environment variable as described in the DIGITAL UNIX Layered Products Compact Disc User's Guide in the CD distribution kit. To read the WAN Support documents, run Bookreader on a graphics terminal: a. Invoke Bookreader (refer to the DIGITAL UNIX Layered Prod- ucts Compact Disc User's Guide); the initial or navigation Bookreader window is displayed. b. Select the appropriate WAN Support document.
