HP OpenVMS Enterprise Directory Version 5.4 ECO 1 Read Before Installing HP OpenVMS Enterprise Directory Version 5.4 ECO 1 is an upgrade of OpenVMS Enterprise Directory Version 5.4. Read the Release Notes and Installation Guide before installing HP OpenVMS Enterprise Directory Version 5.4 ECO 1. Prerequisite Software Before you install the HP OpenVMS Enterprise Directory Version 5.4 ECO 1 make sure you have the following installed and working on your system: o OpenVMS[TM] for Alpha V7.3-2 or later, or o OpenVMS[TM] for Industry Standard 64 V8.2 or later, for In- tegrity Servers (I64) systems. For the HP OpenVMS Enterprise Directory Version 5.4 ECO 1 on Open- VMS[TM] Alpha V7.3-2 or later (excluding Topaz Alpha) the follow- ing optional softwares can be installed on your system: 1. For LDAP or X.500 protocols that use RFC1006 connections, HP TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Alpha V5.4. 2. For LDAPv3 over SSL, HP SSL for OpenVMS Alpha V1.1 or later. 3. For X.500 protocols over an OSI network, DECnet-Plus for Open- VMS Alpha V7.3-2 or later, including the application option (OSAK). For the HP OpenVMS Enterprise Directory Version 5.4 ECO 1 on OpenVMS[TM] for Alpha V8.2 (Topaz Alpha) or later the following optional softwares can be installed on your system: 1. For LDAP or X.500 protocols that use RFC1006 connections, HP TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS V5.5 or later. 2. For LDAPv3 over SSL, HP SSL V1.1 for OpenVMS[TM] or later. 3. For X.500 protocols over an OSI network, DECnet-Plus for Open- VMS Alpha V8.2 or later, including the application option (OSAK). For the HP OpenVMS Enterprise Directory Version 5.4 ECO 1 on Open- VMS[TM] for Industry Standard 64 V8.2 for Integrity Server (I64) systems, the following additional softwares need be installed on your system: 1. Java 1.4.2-1 for OpenVMS[TM] for Industry Standard 64 for In- tegrity Server (I64) systems, or later. 2. Optionally: o For LDAPv3 over SSL, HP SSL V1.1 for OpenVMS[TM] Industry Standard 64 for Integrity Server (I64) systems, or later. o HP TCP/IP Services V5.5, for OpenVMS[TM] Industry Standard 64 for Integrity Servers (I64) systems, or later. o For X.500 protocols over an OSI network, DECnet-Plus V8.2 for OpenVMS[TM] Industry Standard 64 for Integrity Servers (I64) systems or later, including the application option (OSAK). Changes and Fixes in this Release This release contains the following fixes: o New LDAP Listener restart logic for socket errors on the ldap listening socket. o Fix for internal synchronization for freeing the acb context block. o Fix for double free of acb context block on ldap timeout. o Enhanced memory tracing options. Restrictions in this Release o On OpenVMS[TM] Industry Standard 64 for Integrity Server (I64) systems only, Java 1.4.2-1 needs to be installed before the HP Administrator for Enterprise Directory Management Utility can be configured.
