          BEFORE YOU INSTALL Asian DEC MAILworks for OSF/1
          V1.0


          Perform the following steps before installing
          Asian DEC MAILworks V1.0 on your DEC OSF/1
          operating system:


          1.Read the Bill of Materials (BOM) enclosed in
            the transparent plastic  envelop. Check to see
            if all listed items are in the kit. If any
            item is missing, please contact your Digital
            representative.

          2.Make sure that you have installed DEC OSF/1
            V2.0 or higher version with the appropriate
            Asian subsets, together with the DEC C++
            shareable library V1.3, and the InfoBroker
            Server software on your system.
          3.If you want to send and receive X.400 mail
            using Asian DEC MAILworks,  you must also
            install DECnet/OSI for DEC OSF/1 and MAILbus
            400TM  Message Transfer Agent on your system.

          4.Ensure that you have the correct Product
            Authorization Key (PAK)  registered and loaded
            before you use Asian DEC MAILworks.
          5.Read the  Asian DEC MAILworks Server for OSF/1
            AXP Installation Guide and Release Notes    for
            Asian new features.

          6.Asian DEC MAILworks is a customer-installable
            software product. To  install the product, you
            need to read the    Asian DEC MAILworks Server
            for OSF/1 AXP Installation Guide and Release
            Notes carefully for  important information,
            such as the prerequisites software, the
            installation  procedure, the pre-installation
            preparation, the post-installation tasks,
            etc.
