You cannot specify more than one language_culture code value for this parameter. 3-2 After Installation After Installation 3.3 Amending the LIBRARY.DECW$BOOKSHELF file 3.3 Amending the LIBRARY.DECW$BOOKSHELF file DECwindows Motif OpenVMS UI/Language Variants V1.2-3 installation provides a new library bookshelf file called DECW$BOOK:LIBRARY.DECW$BOOKSHELF. If you want to keep your existing library bookshelf file, save it before starting language variant installation to another name and restore it back after the end of installation, especially if you declare to purge files during installation. For example, before starting the installation do the following: $ COPY DECW$BOOK:LIBRARY.DECW$BOOKSHELF DECW$BOOK:LIBRARY.DECW$BOOKSHELF_SAVED After the end of installation restore your original LIBRARY.DECW$BOOKSHELF back: $ COPY DECW$BOOK:LIBRARY.DECW$BOOKSHELF_SAVED DECW$BOOK:LIBRARY.DECW$BOOKSHELF If you want to include a translated version of the "Getting Started with DECwindows Motif" online book to your existing library bookshelf file, append the line found in DECW$BOOK:LIBRARY.DECW$BOOKSHELF to the copy of your original DECW$BOOK:LIBRARY.DECW$BOOKSHELF_SAVED, before you copy it back to DECW$BOOK:LIBRARY.DECW$BOOKSHELF. If you install more than one language variant on your system you can include all different language variants of this book to your library bookshelf file by repeating this step after each language variant installation. 3.4 Invoking and Running a Language Variant To invoke DECwindows Motif in desired user interface language, each user must do the following: 1. Choose Language . . . from the Session Manager's Options menu. The Session Manager displays the Language Options dialog box. 2. Scroll through the list of languages and select the language corresponding to the user interface language you wish to invoke DECwindows Motif in. 3. Click MB1 on "OK" button. 4. Exit session and login again. After Installation 3-3 After Installation 3.4 Invoking and Running a Language Variant Repeat these four steps whenever you want to change DECwindows Motif user interface language. If you select a language corresponding to the language variant which is not installed on your system, DECwindows Motif will display in English. After changing the user interface language, DECwindows Motif applications, except the base applications such as "Session Manager", "Window Manager", "FileView" and "Message Window", can be displayed in the newly selected language, even without exiting DECwindows and logging again. To change "Window Manager" user interface language, you also don't need to exit DECwindows and login again. You can simply restart "Window Manager". 3.5 Determining and Reporting Problems If you encounter a problem while using DECwindows Motif OpenVMS UI/Language Variants V1.2-3, report it to Digital. Depending on the nature of the problem and the type of support you have, you can take one of the following actions: o Call Digital if your software contract or warranty agreement entitles you to telephone support. o Submit a Software Performance Report (SPR). Review the Software Product Description (SPD) and Warranty Addendum for an explanation of warranty. If you encounter a problem during the warranty period, report the problem as indicated above or follow alternate instructions provided by Digital for reporting SPD nonconformance problems. 3-4 After Installation A _________________________________________________________________ Sample Installation This appendix contains a sample installation of the Swedish language variant performed on an AXP system.
