For complete instructions on installing or upgrading the HP OpenVMS/Hangul for Integrity Servers operating system, refer to the HP OpenVMS/Hangul Version 8.2-1 for Integrity Servers Installation Guide which contains installation and operation information on Integrity server computer families. 1.3.1 Installation Procedure HP OpenVMS/Hangul Version 8.2-1 for Integrity Servers requires HP OpenVMS Version 8.2-1 for Integrity Servers as the prerequisite software. Follow the steps below to install HP OpenVMS/Hangul Version 8.2-1 for Integrity Servers: 1. Prepare an HP OpenVMS Version 8.2-1 for Integrity Servers operating system. 2. Install the Korean locale from the HP-I64VMS-VMSI18N- V0802-1-1.PCSI kit. If you are planning to use PostScript printers for printing, you are recommended to install the DECprint Supervisor for HP OpenVMS (DCPS). Introduction 1-3 Introduction 1.3 HP OpenVMS/Hangul for Integrity Servers Installation 3. Use PCSI to install HP OpenVMS/Hangul Version 8.2-1 for Integrity Servers. Please refer to the HP OpenVMS/Hangul Version 8.2-1 for Integrity Servers Installation Guide for details on installing the HP OpenVMS/Hangul Version 8.2-1 for Integrity Servers. 1-4 Introduction 2 _________________________________________________________________ General Release Notes This chapter contains information that is of interest to all users of the HP OpenVMS/Hangul for Integrity Servers operating system. It includes information about commonly used utilities and text processing utilities. This chapter describes changes that affect the following areas of HP OpenVMS/Hangul for Integrity Servers: o Asian Printing Support o Editors 2.1 Asian Printing Support Asian Printing Support will not be ported to HP OpenVMS for Integrity servers. You can use WWPPS to print high quality Korean text files with PostScript printers. 2.2 Editors The default editor for the EDIT command has been changed to HTPU from TPU. Therefore, when you enter the EDIT command, HTPU is invoked rather than the TPU editor. The EDIT command now invokes HTPU with the HEVE section file. ________________________ Note ________________________ The HEDT editor is still included as part of the HP OpenVMS/Hangul for Integrity servers operating system. ______________________________________________________ General Release Notes 2-1 General Release Notes 2.2 Editors 2.2.1 Restriction in HTPU Motif Interface Currently, the HTPU Motif interface is available in English only. There is no Hangul HTPU Motif interface provided. The Hangul output setting under Hangulgen utility has no effect on the HTPU Motif interface. The Hangul HTPU Motif interface will be provided in the future release. 2-2 General Release Notes 3 _________________________________________________________________ Programming and System Management Release Notes This chapter provides release notes about system management, maintenance, writing programs for Korean processing. 3.1 DECwindows Motif/Hangul 3.1.1 DECwindows Motif Version 1.5 for HP OpenVMS Hewlett-Packard offers a new DECwindows Motif/Hangul Version 1.5 for customers who desire a DECwindows environment. DECwindows Motif support is provided by OpenVMS/Hangul in conjunction with DECwindows Motif/Hangul. For details, please refer to DECwindows Motif/Hangul V1.5 Release Notes. 3.1.2 Korean Character Fonts for DECwindows Motif/Hangul The kit of HP OpenVMS/Hangul for Integrity Servers contains Korean character font files for DECwindows Motif/Hangul. If you are planning to install DECwindows Motif/Hangul on your system in the future, it is recommended that you install these font files during the installation of HP OpenVMS/Hangul for Integrity Servers. Users are recommended to install HP OpenVMS/Hangul for Integrity Servers before installing DECwindows Motif/Hangul. See HP OpenVMS/Hangul Version 8.2-1 for Integrity Servers Installation Guide for details. 3.2 License Registration HP OpenVMS on Integrity servers is offered with a new license type, a Per-Processor License (PPL). HP OpenVMS for Integrity Servers licenses are also packaged different, using Operating Environment (OE) bundles. The OE bundles are groups of individual product offered together under a single license. Programming and System Management Release Notes 3-1 Programming and System Management Release Notes 3.2 License Registration The HP OpenVMS/Hangul for Integrity Servers is part of Operating Environment (OE) bundles and is licensed under HP OpenVMS package. No Product Authorization Keys (PAKs) for HP OpenVMS/Hangul for Integrity Servers requests if the key for HP OpenVMS for Integrity Servers load on the systems. For more information about Software Licensing for HP OpenVMS for Integrity Servers, refer to HP OpenVMS for Integrity Servers Versions 8.2-1 and 8.2, and HP OpenVMS Alpha Version 8.2 Operating Systems Software Product Description and HP Operating Environments for OpenVMS Industry Standard 64 for Integrity Servers Software Product Description (SPD 82.34.xx). 3.3 Run-Time Libraries for Korean Processing All Run-Time Libraries for Korean processing that are available in HP OpenVMS/Hangul Alpha and VAX are available in this version of HP OpenVMS/Hangul for Integrity Servers. This problem has been fixed in this version of HP OpenVMS/Hangul for Integrity Servers. Problems Corrected 4-1
