Software Product Description ___________________________________________________________________ PRODUCT NAME: BASEstar Classic DAS for OMNI Software, Version 3.4A SPD 61.42.01 DESCRIPTION The BASEstar Classic DAS for OMNI Software allows users to access de- vices which implement the Manufacturing Message Specification (MMS), ISO IS-9506, and/or the Siemens SINEC-S7, SINEC-AP or SINEC-H1 pro- tocol through the BASEstar Classic Device Connect Manager (DCM). Via BASEstar Classic DCM, the user may configure path, type, device and physical point definitions, read and write data values, and con- figure for polled and unsolicited data collection. The BASEstar Classic DAS for OMNI Software supports the following: o Devices which implement the Manufacturing Message Specification, ISO IS-9506 o Devices which implement the SINEC-S7 protocol o Devices which implement the SINEC-AP protocol o Devices which implement the SINEC-H1 protocol The BASEstar Classic DAS for OMNI software supports the following de- vice access functions: o An Upload Domain (Programs and Data) function that transfers the contents of a device's memory to a VMS file o A Download Domain (Programs and Data) function that transfers the contents of a VMS file to a device's memory o Start and Stop functions (Program Invocations) that change the op- erating mode of a device COMPAQ March 2000 o A Read Named and Unnamed Variables function that allows users and applications to read data from a specific address in a device's mem- ory o A Write Named and Unnamed Variables function that allows users and applications to write data to a specific address in a device's mem- ory o A Read Device Status and Identification function o A Get Device Directory function (Get Name List) o A Receive Unsolicited Variables function (Information Reports, Read and Write Indications) o Read, Write and Exchange SINEC-AP and SINEC-H1 messages (Supported for SINEC-S7, SINEC-AP and SINEC-H1 compliant devices only) HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS Processors Supported The processors supported by the following products will also support the DAS for OMNI Software: o BASEstar Classic Server for OpenVMS VAX V3.4 (development and run- time) o BASEstar Classic Server for OpenVMS Alpha V3.4 (development and run- time) Disk Space Requirements (Block Cluster Size = 1) For Compaq OpenVMS VAX and Alpha Kits Disk space 2,250 blocks required for installation 2 Disk space 1,100 blocks required for use (permanent) These counts refer to the disk space required on the system disk.
