PRODUCT NAME:  BASEstar Classic DAS for Siemens H1 Protocol, Version
3.4A                                                   SPD 61.41.01

DESCRIPTION

The BASEstar Classic DAS for Siemens H1 Protocol allows users to ac-
cess Siemens Programmable Controllers through the BASEstar Classic De-
vice Connect Manager (DCM).

Via BASEstar Classic DCM, the user may configure path, type, device
and physical point definitions, and configure for polled and unsolicited
data collection.

The BASEstar Classic DAS for Siemens H1 Protocol supports the follow-
ing Siemens Programmable Controllers:

o  S115U

o  S135U

o  S150U

o  S155U

The BASEstar Classic DAS for Siemens H1 Protocol supports the follow-
ing device access functions:

o  An Upload function that transfers the contents of a device's mem-
   ory to a VMS file (Not supported for the S155U device)

o  A Download function that transfers the contents of a VMS file to
   a device's memory (Not supported for the S155U device)

o  Start and Stop functions that change the operating mode of a pro-
   grammable controller (Not supported for the S155U device)

o  A Read Data function that allows users and applications to read data
   from a specific address in device's memory

o  A write data function that allows users and applications to write
   data to a specific address in a device's memory

o  A read status function that returns the following information (Not
   supported for the S155U device):

   -  Status of the CP511 board

   -  Programmable controller type and software version

o  Receive Unsolicited Data from a device

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

Processors Supported

The processors supported by the following products will also support
the DAS for Siemens H1 Protocol:

o  BASEstar Classic Server for OpenVMS VAX V3.4 (development and run-
   time)

o  BASEstar Classic Server for OpenVMS Alpha V3.4 (development and run-
   time)

These counts refer to the disk space required on the system disk. The
sizes are approximate; actual sizes may vary depending on the user's
system environment, configuration, and software options.

For OpenVMS VAX Systems:

o  OpenVMS VAX Operating System Version 5.5-2, 6.1, 6.2, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2

o  BASEstar Classic Server for OpenVMS VAX Version 3.4

o  DECnet/OSI (DECnet-Plus) 5.6B or higher

For OpenVMS Alpha Systems:

o  OpenVMS Alpha Operating System Version 6.1, 6.2, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2

o  BASEstar Classic Server for OpenVMS Alpha Version 3.4

o  DECnet/OSI (DECnet-Plus) 5.7 or higher

GROWTH CONSIDERATIONS

The minimum hardware/software requirements for any future version of
this product may be different from the minimum requirements for the
current version.

DISTRIBUTION MEDIA

for OpenVMS VAX:

This product is available as part of the Compaq OpenVMS VAX Consolidated
Software Distribution on CDROM. It is also available on TK50 Stream-
ing Tape.

for OpenVMS Alpha:

This product is available as part of the Compaq OpenVMS Alpha Consol-
idated Software Distribution on CDROM.

License Management Facility Support

This product supports the OpenVMS License Management Facility (LMF)
Software on VAX and Alpha.

A single "Installation & User's Guide" covers both the VAX and Alpha
versions of this software.
