Software Product Description PRODUCT NAME: Enterprise Capacity and Performance Reducer SPD 70.04.04 Version 5.2 DESCRIPTION Enterprise Capacity and Performance (ECP) Reducer takes selected data gathered by the ECP Data Collector and converts the data into a form that can be used by the ECP Planner's workload classification and modeling components. The ECP Reducer supports all data that is gathered by the ECP Collector for OpenVMS as well as all data that is gathered by the ECP Collector for Compaq® Tru64™ UNIX®. The ECP Reducer runs on OpenVMS and Tru64 UNIX systems only. The ECP Reducer creates resource utilization profiles from collected data. These profiles include information and resource utilization of CPUs, and configuration of disks and storage controllers. The ECP Reducer also retains and reports the utilization of system resources by process, or, for OpenVMS only, by process and each image within a process. The reduced data files are highly portable for modeling on any supported platform. That is, the output (.MERG) of the ECP Reducer run on Tru64 UNIX can be input to the ECP Planner run on OpenVMS, and vice versa. The ECP Reducer for Compaq Tru64 UNIX will process data from: ? ECP Data Collector for Compaq Tru64 UNIX ? ECP Data Collector for HP-UX ? ECP Data Collector for IBM AIX ? ECP Data Collector for Sun Solaris ? POLYCENTER Performance Advisor Data Collector for Compaq Tru64 UNIX (pre- V2.1.5 data only) ? HP MeasureWare Version B for HP-UX or IBM AIX The OpenVMS version of the ECP Reducer will process data from: ? ECP Data Collector for OpenVMS (VAX and ALPHA) ?
