Before You Begin
The Ada Predefined Library files needed to support Compaq Ada compatibility
are being provided in this kit. These files are a subset of Compaq Ada V3.5A
for OpenVMS Alpha and are ONLY required if you do not currently have Compaq
Ada installed.
After running the installation procedure the files will be installed in
ADA$PREDEFINED:*.ADC and ADA$EXAMPLES:*.ADA on your system.
Refer to GNAT for OpenVMS Alpha for hardware and software requirements.
Installing the Ada Predefined Libraries for GNAT
Plan appropriately for your download of the Ada Predefined Libraries for
GNAT, which could take 5 minutes assuming a 28.8 modem with very high
line utilization.
To download and install the Ada Predefined Libraries for GNAT:
- Fill out the Download Registration Form and press
the "I Accept..." button to begin the download.
- Run the file:
$ RUN ADAPAL035.EXE
- Install the extracted kit:
$ SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL ADAPAL035
disk:[directory]
Note: The installation will fail if Compaq Ada is installed on your
system. This kit, with the partial Predefined Library, would invalidate the
full library shipped with Compaq Ada.
