The HP DECnet SNA Gateway for Channel Transport is similar to
the HP SNA Domain Gateway-CT but without the 3270 interactive
access to HP applications or the TCP/IP support.
The HP DECnet SNA Gateway for Channel Transport (Gateway-CT) is
a Physical Unit Type 2 (PU2) gateway that consists of a dedicated
high-speed, high-capacity hardware device, the DEC ChannelServer
II (DESNB), which connects directly to the IBM S/370 channel gateway
and provides DECnet users access to IBM SNA mainframe systems. It
supports a wide variety of access routines connecting OpenVMS and
PCs (in a DECnet network) to IBM mainframes. The Gateway-CT connects
directly to an IBM S/370 channel.
HP DECnet SNA gateway-CT software is down-line
loaded into the DEC ChannelServer II. The HP DECnet SNA gateway
management software, installed on the load host and other systems,
configures and manages the Gateway-CT.
